Correct ensiling of grass and corn forms the basis for efficient production. Various problems can occur during the ensiling process, such as uneven dryness, air entrapment, excessive humidity and excessive temperatures. These problems lead to loss of nutritional value and a decrease in productivity. That is why a good ensiling method, including a rapid pH drop, is essential. In addition, mold and overheating pose a constant threat to silage quality.

Solution

Silage Preservation – Ensile Top Layer and Cutting Surfaces is a liquid silage agent that contains acids to promote a rapid pH drop in the silage. The product is safe to use and has preservative properties that maintain the quality of the roughage. It also contains aromatic additives that improve the palatability of the food. This product has versatile applications: it can be used during ensiling with a turnip wagon or chopper, via a silage spreader or sprayer, or in the mixer wagon during ensiling. It is particularly effective for treating the top layer and cutting surfaces of the silage.

Instructions

• Mix before use.
• For ensiling: Make a 20% solution (e.g. 1 liter of Silage Preservation – Ensiling Top Layer and Cutting Surfaces in 4 liters of water) and divide the amount of this solution below into the product to be ensiled.
• Grass: 3-4 liters*/ton DM.
• Corn: 2-3 liters*/ton DM.
• CCM/MKS: 4 litres*/ton DS.
*Depending on silage quality and weather conditions.
• To treat cutting surfaces and top layer: Make a 10% solution (e.g. 1 liter of Silage Preservation – Ensiling Top Layer and Cutting Surfaces in 9 liters of water). Spread this solution evenly over the pit surface: 1 liter per m2 depending on the pit quality and weather conditions.
• When used in the mixer wagon: Make a 10% solution (e.g. 1 liter Silage Preservation - Ensile Top Layer and Cutting Surfaces in 9 liters of water). Distribute 2 liters/ton of product to be fed into the mixer wagon.
